Private Class for NCCS Guild Members - Ashley's One Pound Teapot Class on the Wheel, Saturday, October 24, 2026, 1:00pm-4:00pm, $30

$30.00

Private Class for NCCS Guild Members: Wheel Throw a One Pound Teapot with Ashley! In this hands-on wheel class, potters will learn how to create a charming, functional teapot using just one pound of clay. This class is best suited for experienced beginners and beyond, who are curious about how to throw a teapot, and who want to learn to throw off the hump and work on a smaller scale. If you've never made a teapot before, this is a great low-stakes opportunity to go for it!

We’ll explore the technique of throwing off the hump to efficiently produce small teapot components and then shape and refine the individual pieces needed to build a teapot.

Students will learn how to assemble the parts—including the body, lid, spout, and handle—into a cohesive finished form, with an emphasis on proportion, craftsmanship, and creative problem-solving.

This class is a fun introduction to making small-scale pottery while developing skills that can be applied to many other projects.

Date and Time: October 24, 1:00pm-4:00pm

Cost: $30

What to bring to class:

  • One pound of wedged clay

  • Any tools you might like to use to make small things, such as chopsticks, wood skewers, etc.

Cancellations:  Cancellations must be emailed or texted to Becci no later than 72 hours prior to class start time in order for tuition to be refunded.
