Adults (18 and older) Surface Decoration Class -- Carve Your Own Mug! Saturday, December 6, 2025, 1:00pm-2:30pm

$50.00

Carved mug
Duration: 1 Session (up to 2 hours)
Skill Level: Beginner
Ages: 18+
Instructor: Kayla Potts
Location: NCCS Studio, 13 S. Church St, Waynesboro, PA

Get creative with carving! In this 1.5 hour class, you'll get to carve your own design onto a wheel thrown pottery mug just waiting to be personalized by you! It’s a great gift idea or something special you keep for your self. This class is all about fun and self-expression.

No pottery or drawing experience needed—just bring your imagination and perhaps an inspiration picture or two, and ceramic artist Kayla Pots will guide you through every step. The carving technique can just as easily be used to create an abstract design.

Workshop Includes:

  • A pre-made mug, carving tools, and materials

  • Step-by-step instruction

  • Glazing and kiln firing of one finished mug

What to Bring:

  • Clothes you can get a little messy

  • Ideas or inspiration for your mug

Class Size: Very limited for a relaxed, hands-on experience
Registration Required. Great for a creative afternoon out!

Please note that we do not have a parking lot. We have a few metered street parking spots in front of the studio. If you want to park in a space off the street that is reserved for Nicodemus Center customers, I recommend parking a block further down at the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Waynesboro. Our studio is on a one-way street. If you pass the studio (it will be on your left) continue roughly a block further up the street. The church is on your left.
