Hands-on Piercing Class - August 24, 2025 1:00-2:30 PM with Heather Nicholas
Open to guild members at any experience level. Cost $30.
Have you looked at the beautiful pierced pottery that Heather makes and wondered how she plans her designs and then makes the cuts without crashing, smushing, or cracking the clay? In this hands-on workshop, Heather will share the tips, tricks, and nuances that go into creating her pierced mugs, bowls, and votive holders. Even better, she will demonstrate her technique, guide you as you pierce your piece, and help you trouble shoot.
This class will be held at the Studio.
What to bring:
1-2 pieces of hand built or wheel thrown pottery that is 1) leather hard and 2) has trimmed or slab walls that are approximately 1/4-3/8 inches.
Your choice of hole punchers or other small cookie cutters (e.g. used to cut fondant, not cookie sized), if you have them. We will have a variety for you to use during class.
E-xacto Knife We will have some available to use during class.
Please be sure to sign up by the 21st of August so that Heather knows how many to prepare for.
