Private Class for NCCS Guild Members: in this class, participants will learn how to throw a Christmas Tree on the wheel. In addition to the fun of learning from Ashley, learning a new form, and learning to/creating a closed form, you’ll quickly be able to throw any size tree that you can decorate in so many ways.
Ashley will lead you step by step thru the process. As for decorating, you can use stamps, rollers, carving, little sculptures, and underglazes and glazes to make the tree or tree forest (who can stop at just one?) uniquely yours.
If you choose to glaze your tree(s) in clear, you could even decorate it at home in royal icing and candy as a new holiday tradition similar to the gingerbread house class Jenny will be teaching from 1:00-3:00 on the same day.
*Guild members will provide their own wedged ball(s) of clay for this project and complete the surface decoration/glazing independently.
Date and Time: November 7, 11:00am-1:00pm
Cost: $30
What to bring to class:
Wedged ball(s) of clay; maybe start with 1.5 pounds, more or less. Plan on making 2-3 of these.
Participants can provide any other unique texture tools, stamps, etc. Note that most of the surface decoration will be done after the tree becomes some stage of leather hard.
Cancellations: Cancellations must be emailed or texted to Becci no later than 72 hours prior to class start time in order for tuition to be refunded.
